Revving it up

Here is a motorcycle I did for a friend. I am making all her dad's grandchildren a motorcycle shirt to celebrate his birthday:

At market I lucked up on a TON of makeup bags. I have made myself one, the girls one for their bows when they travel (yes, their bows have their own bag), and trying to decide on what to do with the rest. Here is a makeup bag I monogrammed for Harper's nursery worker, Miss Angel:

A few new designs

I bought a little dress at Market that I know both girls could probably wear now. With leggings, they both can share a TON of dresses. So, I didn't want a monogram on this dress, so I went with a little flower power-

My new software continues to amaze me. I found 8 of this similar style of frames called calligraphy. This is probably the middle of the road in the calligraphy set as far as ornate-ness... if that is such a word. This is for a friend's Sunday School bag:

I had to make Sophie and a few classmates tote bags to bring their work folder home from preschool. I think it turned out cute!

New Fall design and Font

On my new machine I received some new fonts. Below is one I particularly liked, called Fairy Font. Way cute for girls! Also, a new pumpkin design. I think that if I keep making Fall designs the weather will magically change where we can actually wear this stuff...

A Big Weekend for the Hobby

So, lately I have been doing a LOT of sewing, and my machine was NOT wanting to do that much sewing. It worked great when I did one or two things a day, but expecting it to do 15 things a day was not happening. So, Lee and I bumped up my machine power. I am definitely in this hobby now! I even have sewing capabilities, which is comical if you know my sewing ability. Although people have always told me the reason I was terrible at sewing was because of my sub par equipment. We will see... I do have lessons lined up soon! No lessons required for embroidery, though. It is so user friendly and I feel myself speeding up my work soon!

Here are a few new designs I sewed on the new Cadillac of machines:

This is a cute little googly-eyed monster for a little friend. I have about 8 different monsters, little girls included for matching stuff.

Cute little witch.

Cute little witch with a patch. The back of this girl has lots of thread, so sewing it on a patch then putting it on a shirt keeps little witches from having the itches! :)

By the way, I don't know where all the Auburn Fans are this year, but I have about 22 little Alabama Elephants to sew so far, and no requests for AU stuff. Any suggestions for something cute besides the normal megaphone and football patch?

Market Totes

When I was at Market I picked up several of these Market totes. I was hoping to be able to do something a little different than the normal monogram... I think they turned out cute! I am already out of these, but am going back in September to Market to get a few more!

It's almost that time...

Are you ready for football? We are now with our opposing team dresses!

My first Halloween design...

I got this little boot design and love it! I put it on one of the dish towels I got from Market ( I have tons of these, by the way). I don't like the colors I chose, but I plan on putting a ribbon on the shoes to spice it up. I can't wait to hang it on the stove!

A few new shirts

First off, I may have to change to title of my blog to "My 'the girls are halfway entertained or it is midnight and Lee is out of town' Hobby". Why do children decide that they are above a great afternoon nap? It is beyond me. Anyway, I digress.

At market I got Harper a cute turquoise jumper, so I put a red polka dot H on it....

To match Harper, Sophie got a pair of pants out of the same turquoise material, so I made Sophie a cute shirt...

I made Harper this cute little shirt. My friend showed me a similar shirt design, so I copied it a little bit:

A working machine is a marvelous thing...

I got my machine part about 2:00 today, and I have accomplished 11 successful items today! woohoo!!!

Here are a few things:

This is the new bibs I got at market. They are so easy to sew!

Here are two bibs and burp cloth sets for a friend who has a busy shower month!

These are shirts for my niece to help her stand out with her uniforms.

This is Sophie's birthday shirt. We are having a "flowery fourth" party for her, and a friend made matching skorts. I am hoping the shirt stays clean through her party so we can rewear this cute outfit!

no naps lately!!!

I haven't had much to blog on this site lately because a) we have been extremely busy enjoying a fun filled summer of swimming, traveling, and chick fil a. b) the girls haven't been regularly napping, hence the hobby I enjoy at naptime is lacking, and c) my machine has had a few repairs lately, and I am ANXIOUSLY awaiting a visit from the UPS man today to get the final piece of my fixed machine.

I got so many cute items at Market in Atlanta last week that are screaming "monogram me!!", so when I do get a visit today, it is ON! I have great little cosmetic bags, bloomers, shirts, market totes, etc that I bought extra. So, if you see anything in the next few posts you like, just let me know!
